Dr. Fedeski's research focuses on transnational Jewish migration politics in the Cold War. It also placed the role of these activists in transnational context, exploring how Jewish American NGOs interacted with local, national and international actors and arguing that domestic immigration policy cannot be considered separately from global migration politics.
Dr. Fedeski is currently turning her dissertation into a monograph while developing her second project, which takes a transnational view of Jewish migration during the Cold War by exploring the case of Soviet Jewish returnees, who- having first migrated to Israel- returned to Western Europe and sought resettlement in third countries.
