About the Lecture: Growing up in the shadow of The End of History and the supposed triumph of western democracy, it seemed that liberalism was stable, inevitable and perhaps even permanent. But this declaration turned out to be premature. This lecture surveys our modern relationship to liberalism and its promise, and interrogates how the social and political institutions tasked with protecting and reinforcing liberalism have come up short.
About the Speaker: Elamin Abdelmahmoud is a culture writer for BuzzFeed News and host of CBC카지노 게임 컬렉션檚 pop culture show Pop Chat, and author of the bestselling memoir Son of Elsewhere. He was a founding co-host of the CBC Politics podcast Party Lines, and he is a contributor to The National카지노 게임 컬렉션檚 At Issue panel.
